The first one was a very much needed, and LOOOOONG overdue mom's night out. I got to eat some delicious food, drink a margarita, and enjoy the company of 4 great girlfriends. It was definitely a needed break and distraction from life.
The second one was a field trip that I took Emma (6 1/2) to on Friday. We went to Jameson Camp, which I went to as a child 20 years ago. The kids had a blast, the weather was lovely, and the moms got a chance to socialize. The kids ran an agility course, did a creek study (which had the added side benefit of having plenty of examples of erosion, which we had JUST been studying in science - LOVE it when that happens!), and had an archeological dig in the volleyball court, where they dug up pieces of pottery and animal bones (probably casts).
Finally, last night, we went to a party, and the kids had a blast! Water balloon fights, and a trampoline always mean a good time. There was yummy food, too!
Unfortunately, I woke up just before 6 a.m. this morning with what I'm pretty sure was food poisoning. We had to miss Mass, and the May Crowning. :-( That's okay, though. I'm sure we'll make it next year.
Anyway, hope everything is going well for all of you!
God Bless!
Dana
