On Thursday, we got up super early and drove to Fort Wayne, Indiana to meet my new Napro dr, Dr. Stroud. He was FABULOUS! Totally worth the 2 1/2 hr drive. :-) I brought everything we were taking, and my Creighton charts. After talking to us for awhile, and looking at my stuff, he said that everything we're already doing is perfect, and he wants to check my progesterone level at peak (ovulation) plus 7 (so, 7 days afterwards) while ON progesterone (I've never had that tested that way), and he also wants me to start taking more blood thinners post-peak too. He said that by just getting the right amount of progesterone, and being on blood thinners, that we should have no problem keeping the next baby. :-) I'm so excited! He also said that with the amount of blood thinners that I'll be on, I'll still be able to go to the dentist, have surgery, AND have the natural birth I've been dreaming of! Since he's in Ft. Wayne, I can see him for prenatal/birth if I want to drive, or I can see someone else locally for that, and he can manage my progesterone etc. long distance. I LOVED him!!! On to today's excitement! Emma received her First Holy Communion and was enrolled in the Brown Scapular today! It was just as beautiful as I thought it would be. I even teared up a little when she received Our Lord for the first time in the Eucharist. All I could think of was how extremely excited her brother and sisters in Heaven likely were for her. :-)

The girls and I have been planning to drive to Maryland (from Indiana) to visit my dad's side of the family, who I haven't seen since he died 21 years ago, for weeks. We leave Sunday evening, June 19. A couple weeks after our Maryland plans were set in stone, I found out that Emma's overnight Little Flowers camp is June 17-19 (evening on Friday to noon on Sunday). So, we're doing that. Then, I found out that the best time for our St. Louis family to let us come visit them this summer is June 16-(sometime that we'll be in Maryland for). So, I think we're doing St. Louis on June 16. Plus, when we get back from Maryland, VBS will be starting at our parish the next day. I was already feeling a little insane for agreeing to all of that, but now...I've definitely lost it. Lol Emma and I were running errands yesterday, and had that annoying thing happen where you're way too early for your next scheduled thing (ballet in this case), but not enough time to go home. We were driving past the humane society, where I used to take Bella all the time when she was little to visit the animals. I had never really done that with Emma (7), so I thought it would be a fun way to waste time...until Emma saw Squirt. On the way to ballet, Emma kept trying to convince me that Skye needs a friend. Because this is the face of a completely miserable dog, right? ;-) Anyway, I told Emma that I didn't really care that much if we got another dog or not, but that she'd have to convince Daddy. I was 200% sure he'd say no, especially since he doesn't like small dogs, and Squirt is...well...a squirt. Lol Anyway, I posted on Facebook that Emma fell in love with Squirt, and it was meant as a "ha ha, good luck kid!" kind of post...but...it soon turned into a serious, I think we're getting a puppy post when hubby started asking questions about it. Then, he called me while Emma was in ballet, and basically said he didn't care, we could get the puppy, as long as it's potty trained by the time I leave for Maryland. WHAT?!! So, when Emma came out of ballet, and was changing shoes for tap, I told her that Daddy said yes! So, anyway, we went back to the humane society after tap to look closer at Squirt's paper. After all, I hadn't thought we were actually going to end up GETTING another animal, so I hadn't been paying attention. I have to admit, I was sort of hoping that he'd have a "bad" paper, like not playing well with other dogs, or cats, or something... Nope. Perfectly healthy, friendly, ready to adopt little puppy. And, while the adoption fee is rather high, it includes so much, that it really makes it kind of cheap... Unfortunately, we got there too close to closing time, so we couldn't take Squirt home with us. We had to wait and go back today. So, when Emma woke up this morning, and started talking about how we were getting a puppy today, I was like "what puppy?". I half-heartedly tried for like a minute to convince her that I had no idea what puppy she was talking about, and maybe she dreamed it. Lol It didn't work. So, we're getting a puppy! We do have Skye to help potty train, so hopefully it won't be too bad...right? Pray for me! Lol In the meantime, we've decided not to tell Bella until she comes over on Thursday, and finds a new puppy. She's gonna DIE of excitement. Bella's an animal NUT! ;-)
I had my first Norwex launch party today. It was small, but perfect for my first time. The two people who came were already familiar with Norwex and each other, so it was very casual and easy. I had the first launch during the day, so that moms with kids could come easily. We had 4 extra kids in the house today (mostly boys), and it was loud and fun! As part of the demo, I gave the kids some sharpies, and invited them to color on my kitchen floor. Then, I easily cleaned it up with the chemical-free cleaning paste. The kids wanted to try, so I had them color a little more, and they cleaned up their own messes. I can't remember if I mentioned on here yet that I signed up to be a consultant with Norwex. I don't think I have. If you aren't familiar with Norwex yet, it's a company that makes cleaning products with NO chemicals. For like 90% of the cleaning you need to do in your house, you just use their special cloths and water. That's it! The cloths are a very special microfiber that attracts, traps, and holds all the yuck and bacteria. They also have a patented BacLock, which is a kind of silver that actually kills the bacteria after drying for 24hrs. It's really cool, so effective, and saves you so much money in the long run. If you're local, I'm having another launch party on Friday at 6pm at my house. I'd love it if you could come, and let me practice with you. If you aren't local, and still want to help me get my business going, you can always shop at my website. Even more than orders, though, right now I really need people to host their own parties. So, if you'd be interested in learning more about Norwex, or how it works, while earning some free stuff, let me know, and we'll schedule a party! And, if you already know and love Norwex, and could use a little extra cash, consider signing up as a consultant! Not only do you get a free mop and a bunch of other stuff, but it's so fun and easy! I only had two people come to my first launch party today, and I made close to $100 in commissions!!! Anyway, I ACTUALLY already have Emma asleep, so I'm going to go relax and watch some Criminal Minds. :-)
God Bless! Dana Today marks six years since I came into the Church, and received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist. By a very cool coincidence, one of Emma's friends (and one of my students from my teaching days at Catholic Schoolhouse) received her 1st Communion today, and we were invited to witness it. So, we went, and not only were there several First Communions, but they also had a baptism. For some reason, it hit me pretty hard that 3 of my children will never do that. Of course, it didn't help that the anniversary of losing Charlotte was just 2 days ago on April 1, and not only did THAT hit me pretty hard (starting on Thursday - which I thought was Friday for most of the day), but I've been having a hard time bouncing back from it. Anyway, before I started grocery shopping today, I took advantage of the alone time, and went to the bookstore to look for some info on gluten-free stuff, and cookbooks. As I was looking at a gluten-free cookbook, I saw a blurb about Celiac Disease. I noticed that some symptoms of Celiac include headaches (check), miscarriage (check, check, check), and children who have trouble gaining weight (big check until I had kids). Then, I remembered that my mom had said that I couldn't eat wheat as a kid without getting sick. Interesting... So, MTHFR can cause miscarriages, and Celiac can also cause miscarriages...and my favorite go-to snack with my last two pregnancies? Triscuits with cheese. Hmmm... I mean, I haven't been officially diagnosed with Celiac yet, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if I have it. I also discovered that it's hereditary, and if ignored can cause osteoporosis. I know for a fact that my mom's mom had severe osteoporosis, and my mom was headed down that path as well when she got sick and died. Not sure past that.
